Our next Learning Exhibition is on Thursday 22nd March at 2.30pm. Come along and see our school in action. The children will be sharing all of their hard work during our Art Enrichment week with their wonderful art work on display. The children always look forward to show-casing what they have learnt and talking about it with an adult confirms their learning and develops confidence and self esteem. Everyone is welcome. Classrooms will be open from 2.30pm.

A special 'Thank you' to all of our Mums - and Dads that are Mums too - who make our school community such a happy, family centred place to learn. Thinking about those for whom Mothers day might be a difficult day too.

Every Friday afternoon we hold our achievement assembly where we celebrate all of our achievements made during the week. Children (and sometimes staff) receive merit certificates for their hard work. These efforts are recognised for specific pieces of work or for demonstrating our core christian values in some way. In addition to this, someone may receive a special mention for choosing to use kind words or actions. The children always wait eagerly to see if their efforts have been rewarded and it is always lovely to see everyone clapping and praising others. As part of this assembly we also celebrate achievements made outside of school. This is my favourite part because everyone is so proud to share their experiences. These vary from swimming, gym club, martial arts, hockey, football, tennis to scouting, musical achievements and drama productions. We learn so much about our children as they share these moments. It reminds us how important it is to develop the whole child. They are all so well rounded and happy children. It's lovely to see.

I am so proud of our eco warriors. They really are super heroes; a group of our Year 6 children who actively want to make a positive change to our environment. Having completed their own audit of where we could make better choices to help the environment, they drew up an action plan to get everyone in school recycling, reusing and reducing waste. Every week they check that our school is turning off lights and taps when not needed and that paper can be reused as scrap paper in a mission to stop lazy ways of living. Their passion for looking after our world has now spread to our school grounds. They are in the process of organising a big litter pick and have repositioned water butts to save water for our allotment. Our school pond has been cleared of weeds and with the help of the forestry commission they have organised the delivery of 32 new trees and plants. They hold regular meetings and are now thinking of ways to get our local community involved. What super children we have! (Photos to follow)

Well Done to our wonderful hockey players who entered the Thame Partnership Hockey tournament this week. In true Aston Rowant style they showed determination and superb team spirit. All their efforts meant they made it to the final V Tetsworth. Well done everyone!
