Developing our Atlas skills with scavenger hunt style quiz - it was pretty tricky but we showed resilience towards our challenge!

Maths Enrichment Week - We have had a strong focus on developing our problem solving and reasoning skills this week. The children have used manipulatives and pictures both in and outside of the classroom this week to support this and have gained so much confidence with their verbal and written reasoning - well done Fox Class!

Enjoying listening to Mrs McCleary read 'Leon and the Place Between' before we used the story to generate ideas for our own recount. Today we focused on using prepositions to add extra detail.

In ICT we are going to be learning about animation. To launch this unit, we made flickbooks with simple stick figures. So much fun!

British Values Day - We thought about each of the British Values and what this might look like in our school and daily lives. We also drew pictures of the Queen in celebration of her birthday.

Spring 2

Storytellers

We thought of different ways to sort the months of the year. It helped us to remember how many days were in each month and think about how this changes with a leap year.

We made paper plate clocks to help us remember time telling vocabulary, which side was 'past' or 'to' or to represent the time in Roman Numerals. We then used our clocks to play different games involving time intervals.

It's been so lovely to welcome the children back into class this week. We have enjoyed working together on different challenges to celebrate British Science Week.

We made paper gliders using paper straws and strips of paper. We had fun testing them on the field, before we evaluated and made improvements to our designs.

We refreshed our measuring skills by plotting out measurements for our favourite dinosaurs on the MUGA. Some of them were much larger than we imagined!

Big Science Event! We posed our own questions to answer with a scientific investigation. The children planned, carried out and presented their investigations on a poster. We had so many creative questions, including 'Do all materials make a rainbow?' 'Which food is the most absorbent?' and 'Do different types of mints make coke fizzer?'

Another great week of home learning. I have loved seeing all the great things you have been doing at home. We have had fun learning about Robots for computing enrichment week!

There was more Monet this week, with some beautiful chalk pictures being created. The children in 'The Hub' painted their clay pots too. There was measuring and musical instruments and reading challenges as well! I love all the life skills you are learning at home alongside your school work. It's really important to exercise for our physical and mental health so keep going. I also need to invest in some Onion Goggles!

There were some tricky maths and SPaG challenges this week. I love that some of you are sending me the learning you've done just by following your own interests whilst at home too!
