Welcome to Hedgehog Class!

We are 16 fabulous children in Foundation Stage and Year One, 2 Enthusiastic and Passionate teachers and 2 amazing and kind TA's!

We are motivated and excited to learn through a busy and engaging curriculum. We learn inside and out in any weather. We take responsibility for our own learning through our play targets, teacher targets and choosing our own level of challenge. We love to go for Gold! Our teachers work hard to ensure we are always progressing through our play focusing on the characteristics of learning; Active learning, playing and exploring and thinking critically. We love our outside area and particularly enjoy investigating and getting muddy on Forest Fridays. We are a kind and friendly class, we appreciate and value our differences and are always mindful and respectful of our Golden Rules and School Values.

Science week so far...

We have been enjoying lots of investigations focusing on asking questions and observing changes.

Some of the children have been wondering about Volcanoes. Today we looked at different volcanos and which were 'dormant' and which were 'active'. We decided to make our own volcano and tomorrow we are going to make it erupt! Year ones, read and ordered instructions to make some lava lamps and will be writing their own experiments later on.
