Performance Tables
At Aston Rowant CE Primary School, we are proud of the progress our pupils make and the outcomes they achieve.
As a small school, our cohort sizes are typically 15 pupils or fewer. This means that percentages can vary significantly from year to year and do not always provide a reliable picture of the quality of education provided. For this reason, we carefully consider performance data alongside a wider range of information, including pupils’ progress, work in books and ongoing assessment.
We remain ambitious for all pupils and ensure that every child is well supported and challenged to achieve their full potential.

Growing the Whole Child
At Aston Rowant CE Primary School, we believe that assessment is only one part of a child’s educational journey. Rooted in our vision of “growing together, rooted in God, enjoying fullness of life,” we are committed to developing the whole child.
While pupils take part in national assessments such as SATs and statutory checks, these are just one aspect of how we understand and support their progress. We ensure that every child is well prepared, confident and supported, enabling them to demonstrate their knowledge and skills to the best of their ability.
Our curriculum extends far beyond test outcomes. Alongside strong foundations in reading, writing and mathematics, pupils benefit from a broad and enriched curriculum, including art, music, design and technology, outdoor learning and wider experiences.
This approach ensures that pupils not only achieve academically but also develop confidence, resilience, creativity and a love of learning, equipping them for the next stage of their education and for life beyond school.
Our Approach to Outcomes
We focus on ensuring that all pupils:
- Make strong progress from their starting points
- Develop secure reading, writing and mathematical skills
- Become confident, independent learners
Our curriculum is carefully designed to support pupils’ academic achievement as well as their personal development, ensuring they are well prepared for the next stage of their education.
