Safeguarding

At Aston Rowant School, safeguarding is the foundation of everything we do. We are unequivocally committed to protecting the welfare, safety and dignity of every pupil, and we uphold the statutory expectations set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2025. We recognise that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility – every member of staff, every governor, every volunteer, and every adult connected to our community plays a vital role in keeping children safe.

We strive to maintain a strong, transparent and preventative safeguarding culture, where concerns are acted upon swiftly, pupils feel heard and protected, and staff exercise professional curiosity and vigilance at all times. Our leaders and governors set the tone from the top, ensuring that safeguarding is prioritised in decision-making, policy, and daily practice. This reflects the enhanced expectations in Ofsted’s 2025 framework, which require schools to demonstrate effective safeguarding systems, rigorous oversight, and a culture in which pupils consistently feel safe and know who to turn to for support.

In partnership with parents, carers and external safeguarding agencies, we work tirelessly to create a school environment in which all children thrive, are understood as individuals, and are supported to grow with confidence.

Safeguarding is not just a policy—it is a moral and professional duty that guides every aspect of life at Aston Rowant School.
