Science

Science at Aston Rowant is alive with curiosity, excitement and hands-on learning. Our curriculum reflects our Christian vision of Growing Together by nurturing children who are inquisitive, knowledgeable, thoughtful and eager to explore the world God has created.

From observing seasonal changes in EYFS to investigating forces, electricity and evolution in KS2, pupils learn to think and behave like real scientists. They ask questions, make predictions, test ideas, analyse results and communicate their findings with confidence.

We believe that science should be practical, enquiry-rich and connected to real life. Children carry out regular investigations, explore outdoors, use scientific equipment, learn from experts, and take part in whole-school STEM projects that nurture awe and wonder.

Our curriculum builds knowledge progressively while also developing the essential skills of Working Scientifically: observing, measuring, classifying, testing, seeking patterns and researching. Across each year group, children grow in accuracy, independence and critical thinking.

We want every child to leave Aston Rowant feeling like a scientist - curious, confident, and ready to understand and contribute to the world they live in.

Science at Aston Rowant is not just a subject; it is a journey of discovery, joy and wonder.
