g. Enrichment Weeks

Every year, we hold a wholeschool RE Enrichment Week — a treasured opportunity for deep spiritual reflection, creativity, and community engagement.

2025 – Journeys of Hope (Easter/Theology Focus)

A powerful week exploring Holy Week and the message of hope.

  • EYFS: Easter Gardens and sensory story journeys

  • KS1: Holy Week story maps and moving emptytomb crafts

  • LKS2: Road to Emmaus drama, freezeframes, hope lanterns

  • UKS2: Symbolism, theology, reflective writing & collaborative art

All work was celebrated in our wholeschool gallery: “Journeys of Hope: Our Easter Story”

2024 – Courageous Advocacy (Justice & Action)

Theme inspired by Proverbs 31:89.

Children learned what it means to stand up for justice:

  • Hedgehog: Energy efficiency campaign

  • Squirrel: Supporting SharingLife Foodbank

  • Fox: National Road Safety campaign

  • Owl: Global peace and justice work through The Olive Tree Project, including involvement from our local MP

A week of deep thinking, compassion and action.

2023 – Exploring Prayer

Classes explored prayer creatively through:

  • Fizzy prayers

  • Lego prayers

  • Prayer plates

  • Prayer cups

  • Contemplative spaces and outdoor prayer garden

The week connected to RE units such as “Does God Communicate with Man?” and “Does Prayer Change Things?”

2022 – Holy Week (WholeSchool Study)

Each class explored a part of Holy Week:

  • Hedgehog: Palm Sunday

  • Squirrel: Good Friday

  • Fox: Maundy Thursday

  • Owl: Easter Sunday

Activities included breadmaking, footwashing, crossmaking and recreating the empty tomb.

RE at Aston Rowant: A Place to Flourish

Religious Education at our school enables children to:

  • Understand Christianity deeply

  • Respect and appreciate diverse worldviews

  • Reflect on the big questions of life

  • Develop moral courage and compassion

  • Grow spiritually, emotionally and academically
