PSHE

Personal, Social, Health & Economic Education (PSHE)

At Aston Rowant CofE Primary School, PSHE sits at the heart of our curriculum. It underpins pupils’ personal development, strengthens safeguarding, builds character, deepens our Christian vision, and equips every child with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to flourish both now and in later life.

Our PSHE curriculum is carefully planned, clearly sequenced and age-appropriate, and is delivered through a blend of Kapow Primary’s high-quality programme, our whole-school enrichment, and the rich range of experiences, visitors and real-world learning that shape pupils’ understanding of themselves and their place in the world.

Through PSHE, children learn to:

  • Develop healthy relationships and emotional literacy
  • Stay safe online, on the road, near water and in the community
  • Understand diversity, equality, democracy and their rights
  • Make informed choices about health and wellbeing
  • Manage money responsibly
  • Uphold our GROWTH Christian values in daily life
  • Think critically about the world, media and issues of justice
  • Become active, responsible and compassionate citizens

Our PSHE work was praised during our ESAT safeguarding audit, particularly the quality of our floor books which demonstrate meaningful pupil voice, thoughtful reflection and clear progression across the school.
