Information/Computing Technology (ICT)
ICT/Computing Curriculum
Welcome to our Computing Curriculum area. At Aston Rowant School our vision is to empower all learners to become confident, responsible and creative digital citizens, fully prepared for the connected world they are growing up in. Our curriculum follows the Kapow Primary Computing Scheme, ensuring breadth, depth and high-quality progression across all year groups.
Technology is embedded across our school: pupils access two full laptop trolleys, two full iPad trolleys, programmable Bee-Bots (KS1), Micro:bits, codable robots (KS2), VR headsets (via hire), and a rich range of peripherals including visualisers, cameras, headphones, interactive transportable whiteboards, and classroom audio systems.
We ensure all pupils learn the core pillars of Computing:
- Computer Science – coding, logic, algorithms, robotics
- Digital Literacy – safe, responsible, effective use of technology
- Information Technology – media creation, data handling, productivity tools
Online Safety is a golden thread throughout our curriculum, supported by annual Safer Internet Day participation and ongoing digital citizenship teaching.
