Personal Development

At Aston Rowant C E Primary School, our Christian vision - “Growing together, rooted in God, enjoying life in all its fullness” - is the driving force behind everything we do. It shapes the curriculum, the culture, the relationships and the day-to-day lived experience of every child. This vision is not a slogan: it is an active, transformational force that enables pupils to grow, flourish and thrive academically, personally, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

Our approach to personal development begins with knowing every pupil as an individual. We take great pride in the fact that:

“Every child is known and believed in at Aston Rowant… everyone here has big ideas. The headteacher cultivates an ambition for every child to achieve well with no limits placed.” Ofsted, May 2022

This reflects our commitment to a school where:

  • every child feels safe, seen and supported,
  • every child is nurtured and challenged,
  • every child is encouraged to be confident, resilient and curious,
  • emotional and academic needs are understood,
  • belonging and identity are celebrated,
  • no limits are placed on what children can achieve.

This culture of belief is a key reason pupils flourish here.

Personal Development at Aston Rowant includes:

  • Character & values

Personal Development is not a lesson. It is who we are, every day. Children leave Aston Rowant School confident, compassionate and morally grounded individuals, ready for life’s next steps.

‘It is easy to spot an Aston Rowant pupil. The way they convey themselves to others is impressive.’ Ofsted, May 2022
