i. Anti-Bullying Work (Including Odd Socks Day)
Intent
To promote respect, kindness and a zero-tolerance approach to bullying.
Implementation
We follow the national Anti-Bullying Week theme and take part in Odd Socks Day, celebrating individuality and valuing difference.
Children learn:
- What bullying is and isn’t
- How to report concerns
- How to be an upstander
- The impact of words and actions
- Inclusion and respect
Impact
Our proactive approach results in a community where children feel safe, valued and included.
Impact includes:
- Precise understanding of bullying, including repetition, power imbalance and intention.
- Confident reporting, because children trust adults to act fairly.
- Kind, respectful relationships, strengthened by anti-bullying pledges and values-led teaching.
- Celebration of difference, particularly through Odd Socks Day.
- Reduction in repeat incidents, as pupils recognise harmful behaviours early.
- Improved empathy and social awareness, especially in conflict resolution.
Behaviour and relationships are a strength, supported by PSHE.
