i. Anti-Bullying Work (Including Odd Socks Day)

Intent

To promote respect, kindness and a zero-tolerance approach to bullying.

Implementation

We follow the national Anti-Bullying Week theme and take part in Odd Socks Day, celebrating individuality and valuing difference.

Children learn:

  • What bullying is and isn’t
  • How to report concerns
  • How to be an upstander
  • The impact of words and actions
  • Inclusion and respect
Impact

Our proactive approach results in a community where children feel safe, valued and included.

Impact includes:

  • Precise understanding of bullying, including repetition, power imbalance and intention.
  • Confident reporting, because children trust adults to act fairly.
  • Kind, respectful relationships, strengthened by anti-bullying pledges and values-led teaching.
  • Celebration of difference, particularly through Odd Socks Day.
  • Reduction in repeat incidents, as pupils recognise harmful behaviours early.
  • Improved empathy and social awareness, especially in conflict resolution.

Behaviour and relationships are a strength, supported by PSHE.
