j. Extra-Curricular Sport & Active Playtimes

We enhance children’s activity levels through:

  • Daily Mile before school
  • After-school sports clubs
  • Lunchtime sports zones
  • Active play equipment
  • Play Leaders supporting games
  • Fitness trails, running challenges, skipping and playground activities
  • Change4Life style activity sessions for less-active pupils

Our aim is for every child to achieve 30 minutes of activity in school daily - and to love moving.

Active Lunchtimes 

Our JR Sports coaches also run structured games and activities at lunchtimes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 

These sessions: 

  • Encourage positive play and cooperation 
  • Support fitness and wellbeing 
  • Provide inclusive opportunities for all pupils 
  • Promote enjoyment of movement beyond lesson time 

Active lunchtimes help pupils develop healthy habits and positive social interactions.
