Science Week 2026 — Curiosity: Exploring the Unknown

  • Coding a Mars landing; rover Egg-Bot engineering; meteor impact testing; regolith/soil comparisons; Oxford fossils workshop; live Q&A with a scientist.
  • Pupil Voice: “My code worked! I landed on Mars!” “The ammonite was older than I can imagine!”

Science Week 2025 — Change & Adapt

  • Milk → plastic polymer, Van de Graaff, Chladni plates, evolution yoga, air-quality sensors, live lamb ultrasound.
  • Pupil Voice: “The lamb ultrasound was AMAZING.” “The Chladni plates were awesome.”

British Science Week 2024 — TIME

  • Water clocks; chromatographic “rainbow” investigations; potato/lemon batteries; live astronaut content; “eggs in vinegar” (change over time).
  • Pupil Voice: “The lemon battery actually worked!” “Chromatography was like solving a mystery.”

These weeks enhance the taught curriculum (not replace it), strengthening working scientifically, teamwork and scientific identity across the school.
