Welcome to Autumn/Winter Term Owls. It’s lovely to see the mixture of fresh and familiar faces as we begin our new school year together. All the information you will need this term is right here: this page includes information regarding timetables, homework and term dates, as well as Knowledge Organisers for each foundation topic, like History and Science. Ask your grown-ups to print one out to talk about what we are learning at home!  Grown-ups, if issues do pop up, or you have a quick question, you can always reach me at the school gate, or leave me a message with the Office Team for any other concerns or queries.

Our theme this term (Autumn/Winter 2026)

Doorways to Discovery is our intriguing theme for the Autumn and Winter Terms- encouraging children to open new doors to knowledge, curiosity and adventure across the curriculum. In History and our English lessons, we will journey back to Ancient Greece, discovering how this remarkable civilisation shaped the modern world through its myths, culture and achievements. In Science, pupils will investigate the properties and uses of different materials through practical enquiries and hands-on experiments, developing their skills as young scientists. In Mathematics, we will refresh and strengthen our understanding of place value before building fluency and confidence with factors, multiples, multiplication and division. These key skills will provide a strong foundation for problem -solving and reasoning throughout the year.

Alongside our classroom learning, children will take part in exciting Big Homework projects linked to a variety of topics, giving them the opportunity to showcase their creativity, curiosity and independence through models, artwork, research, writing and other imaginative outcomes. Throughout the term, pupils will be encouraged to ask questions, make connections and embrace new challenges as they open many Doorways to Discovery ,and continue to develop as confident and enthusiastic learners.
