Our theme this term

Window on the World is our inspiring whole‑school theme for the Summer Term, encouraging children to look outward though alternate perspectives, while reflecting on their place within the wider world. Through this theme, pupils will explore how they belong to different communities By exploring different perspectives, backgrounds and stories, pupils learn that there are many ways to belong. This helps children see difference as something positive and enriching, rather than a barrier.

Throughout the term, children will consider how shared experiences, values and stories link people together across time and place. Discussion, creativity and reflection will support pupils in recognising their own role in nurturing inclusive, respectful communities and appreciating the perspectives of others

By the end of the term, children will have a stronger understanding of belonging -to their school, their local community and the wider world- and how these connections help shape who they are: Looking “through the window” at others’ lives encourages understanding, kindness and respect, which are key foundations of an inclusive community.
