Smartphone Free Childhood Meeting
Wednesday 25 September 2024 at 7.30pm, St Mary's Church, Thame
A group of local parents are inviting our school community to join them at an evening of learning and talking about smartphones in childhood.
When? Wednesday 25 September 2024 at 7.30pm
Where? St Mary's, Church Road, Thame
Who? All welcome and all opinions welcome. From complete novices to aficionado's - ALL are welcome.
What?
Smartphone Free Childhood (SFC) is a grassroots movement of parents who believe childhood is too short to be spent on a smartphone. The evening will bring parents together to start new and positive conversations about the problems of smartphones in childhood. A keynote speaker from the SFC team will present and followed by an informal discussion about it. It is planned to be low key.
Why now?
Many parents feel that they are facing a tricky dilemma. Do we allow our children access to something evidence tells us is damaging, or say no and risk alienating them among their peers at a crucial stage of their social development?
There is a Google Form for the event with further information and where attendance can be registered here.
Information on the national Smartphone Free Childhood campaign can be found here.
We encourage everyone to attend the meeting on 25 Sept and join the discussion.
