Science

Science at Aston Rowant School nurtures curiosity and enquiry, empowering pupils to explore, question, and understand the world around them.

At Aston Rowant School, science is a core subject that develops pupils’ curiosity, enquiry skills, and secure understanding of the world around them. Our curriculum is carefully designed to ensure that all pupils, regardless of starting point, build substantive knowledge and disciplinary skills progressively over time.

Science teaching promotes questioning, investigation, and reflection, enabling pupils to think scientifically, use appropriate vocabulary, and apply their learning in meaningful contexts. Learning is enriched through practical experiences, outdoor learning, specialist equipment, and opportunities to work collaboratively.

As a school, we are proud to have held the Primary Science Quality Mark (PQSM) since 2018 and to have achieved the Gilt Award in 2022, which has recently been re‑awarded, reflecting our sustained commitment to high‑quality science education.
