Our Reading Vision 

Reading is at the heart of the school and is both explicitly taught and celebrated every day. 

Opening Doors Through Reading 

Reading lies at the heart of everything we do. We believe that reading opens doors to knowledge, imagination, opportunity and lifelong learning. From our youngest children learning to read through phonics to our oldest pupils discussing ambitious texts and advocating for every child's right to read, we are committed to developing fluent, confident readers who read for both purpose and pleasure. 

Reading is celebrated every day through ERIC (Everyone Reading in Class), Guided Reading lessons, Reading Challenges, Reading Journals, Reading Keys rewards and regular opportunities to share and discuss books. Adults across the school actively model reading and work alongside families and volunteers to promote a strong reading culture. 

This year (2026) we are particularly proud to be opening our new school library, made possible through the incredible fundraising efforts of our PTA alongside support from the school. The library represents our commitment to ensuring that every child has access to high-quality books and inspiring reading opportunities. 

We are proud to be a school where reading is not simply taught, but truly celebrated.
