Residential 2026

Happy Monday! (29/06/26)

We have had a safe drive to The Summit Centre, The Old Drift Mine, Trelewis. We have settled in nicely into the dorms and even made the beds. We then had an afternoon of team building challenges around the site. We have enjoyed an evening meal of burger and chips followed by cheesecake and ice cream! Our game of Traitors is about to begin...

Tuesday (30/06/26)

It was an early start this morning, with lots of excited faces. Sleep may have been in short supply, but enthusiasm certainly wasn’t! The children threw themselves into their first full day of activities, showing real courage, determination, and support for one another. Mr Manning's group literally threw themselves (and the school iPad) into it with the waterfall challenge! The other two groups completed the aerial challenges with blind folds and hands tied together. We had to take careful aim in archery as we were earning our cutlery for tonight. Some children will be eating curry followed by brownies with just a knife!  Everyone stepped outside their comfort zones on the water and at height, and achieved something to be proud of today. After such a busy day, we’re hoping for a much quieter night!

Wednesday (01/07/26)

Today was another action-packed day, and it’s been wonderful to see the children growing in confidence with each new challenge. Two groups have been climbing and caving and Mrs France took her group to explore the beautiful Welsh countryside and complete several waterfall challenges. Everyone has continued to push themselves and cheer each other on. Team spirit has really shone through, especially during the more challenging activities, where encouragement from friends has made all the difference. We’ve seen resilience, bravery, and lots of elated smiles! The children are making the most of every moment and creating some fantastic memories together. We managed to watch the football before starting our orienteering challenge. Time for a traitors round table - then bed...
