a. Our Grounds & Natural Spaces

An Environment Designed for Learning, Play and Discovery

Our school is situated in an Area of Outstanding Beauty. In addition, it benefits from extensive, varied and well-developed outdoor areas designed to support learning, wellbeing and children’s natural curiosity.

🌱 Raised Beds

We use our raised beds throughout the year for planting, growing and science investigations. Classes take responsibility for different beds, planting vegetables, herbs and pollinator-friendly plants. This hands-on experience helps pupils learn about life cycles, sustainability and healthy eating.

🍎 Mini Orchard

Our developing orchard provides fruit, shade and a peaceful area for reflection. Children learn how trees grow, how to care for them across the seasons, and how orchards support biodiversity.

🌿 Willow Circle

A unique natural structure woven from living willow. The Willow Circle is used for small-group discussion, storytelling, reflection and worship. It offers a sense of shelter, calm and connection to nature.

🦋 Wildlife Areas

We have several spaces dedicated to wildlife, including log piles, bug hotels, long-grass zones and wildflower patches. These areas encourage butterflies, bees, small mammals and insects, supporting curriculum learning in science.

✝️ Peace Garden

Our Peace Garden is a quiet, reflective space used for worship, prayer, mindfulness and emotional wellbeing. Children visit to think, talk, read or simply enjoy the stillness. It reinforces our Christian ethos and GROWTH values.

🐸 Pond Area

Our pond area is a wonderful environment for studying habitats, life cycles and environmental change. Supervised pond dipping, observation sessions and nature walks make the curriculum come alive.
