b. How we are elected - democracy in action

As part of our work on British Values, we teach pupils how democracy works. 

Our election process includes: 

• Children preparing short speeches 
• Class discussions about what makes a good leader 
• Secret ballots 
• Counting votes fairly 
• Electing one representative per year 

Pupils learn that democracy means everyone has a voice and that leaders represent the views of others, not just themselves.
