4. Safer Recruitment

· At Aston Rowant School, we follow robust safer recruitment procedures fully aligned with the statutory expectations set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2025, ensuring that all adults working with our pupils are suitable and appropriately vetted. This includes carrying out all required pre-appointment checks, such as enhanced DBS checks, barred list checks, and Section 128 management checks, as specified within KCSIE 2025 guidance.

· We also make use of the Department for Education’s secure “Check a Teacher’s Record” service, which supports schools in verifying prohibition orders, restrictions and other safeguarding-related sanctions recorded against teaching staff.

· Our safer recruitment processes extend to the appointment of volunteers and contractors, who are subject to appropriate vetting and risk assessment to ensure that safeguarding standards are upheld consistently across all adults working within our school environment.
