This term Y1 are learning music with Mrs Hall. We are learning to play the recorder to help us develop our understanding of rhythm and beat. The children are very keen and some have even been taking their recorders and music home to practice. So far the children have learnt how to hold the recorder correctly and blow it gently to make a nice sound. The last few weeks have been spent learning how to follow the notes on a piece of music and recognise if it is quick or slow (quavers and crotchets). Mrs Hall has been very impressed with how quickly all of us have learnt these skills.
